Driving related incidents are the single largest cause of fatalities in the Oil and Gas Industry company operations and similar Commercial operations. Studies conducted by the World Health Organisation predict that road deaths will increase and, that by 2010 they are heading towards becoming the second largest contributor to mortality globally. Considering this forecast it has been recommended that “Best Practice”  Defensive Driver Training be adopted to address this issue in areas where companies and their contractors/sub contractors operate.

The main objective of the Daletrax Driver Training Transport Risk Assessment Programme for 4wd and Light Vehicle Operations is to help reduce, and ultimately eliminate, the number of serious road traffic incidents, injuries and fatalities by reviewing your company’s current policy and offering guidance on how to implement land transport safety elements in a management system which is consistent with the Industry recommendations.

Industry recommendations are that Training and Guidance are provided by Management to all Company, Contractor/Sub Contractor Drivers operating on Company Roads and Premises, Public Roads and Public Areas when on Company business. Have all Drivers on Your Projects had formal and recent Defensive Driver Training?

Your Drivers/Contractors/Sub-Contractor Drivers must be appropriately licensed, trained and have the functional capacity to operate your vehicles at all times.
